Meta Restructures AI Superintelligence Labs into Four Divisions
Meta is dismantling its AI Superintelligence Labs, redistributing its resources into four specialized units focused on research, infrastructure, product development, and long-term superintelligence objectives. The reorganization, led by AI chief Alexandr Wang, underscores Meta's commitment to dominating the race toward artificial superintelligence.
The new structure includes TBD Lab under Wang's leadership, FAIR for fundamental research, a product integration team headed by ex-GitHub CEO Nat Friedman, and an infrastructure division. This MOVE follows a period of aggressive talent acquisition, signaling Meta's intensified focus on AI advancement.
"Superintelligence is coming, and in order to take it seriously, we need to organize around the key areas that will be critical to reach it," Wang stated in an internal memo seen by Bloomberg. The company confirmed the restructuring but declined to elaborate on specific operational changes.
